ICAfrica
is a Volunteer run organization. The primary focus of
our work is to tap the entrepreneurial abilities of
impoverished individuals and assisting them to grow
their income potentials to create jobs/economic
activities for themselves and for others. Our core
belief is that when the majority of population are able
to earn living wages, the right economic progress that
drives away mass poverty will emerge. In 2010, over 60%
of people in sub-Sahara were living in extreme poverty.
To Volunteer at ICAfrica, try first to understand the
enormity and the seriousness of our challenge. If you
are ready for it, you are going to make a commitment to
roll up your sleeves and become a positive contributor
in the effort that we are involved in. That means you
will take ownership of the projects you are assigned and be passionate about it. To join and gain experience
for your resume at ICAfrica is great but at this early
stages of the organization's development, that should
not be your primary goal. Some current expected
volunteer goals are: "..how can I raise funds
for projects through my local networks?", "..how can I use
my talent to help ICAfrica achieve it's mandate?". This would enable you to better
appreciate the scope of our work and therefore a more fulfilled
and effective volunteer.
We
need
dedicated people who would help us grow and
meet our mandate. We need help in fundraising across
Canada and in all countries around the globe. We need
volunteers on the ground in Africa to help with our
local administration and in the delivery of services. I
think that this is a fun place to
volunteer and the sky is your limit. You can even design a project that you feel
would help advance our cause and present
it to our board. If approved, it could be implemented with you playing a major role.
Be assured that you would meet with a rewarding
experience when you volunteer at ICAfrica.
Thank
you!
